Hello! Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Lauren Goderwis. That's me in that picture up there. I am currently 19 years old (I'll be 20 in March, and yes I feel old). I was born, raised, and am currently residing in Northern Kentucky. I live with my parents, John and Karen (below, top), and my little sister, Tara (below, bottom).
The four of us share our log cabin home with four dogs, Champ, Charlie, Cassie, and Gigi, and two cats, Booboo and Muffin. I graduated from Ryle High School in 2011, and I will be a sophomore at Northern Kentucky University in the fall. At the moment, I am employed at Regis as a receptionist (my hatred for the phone increases with every ring). I am also a Young Life leader for Lloyd Memorial High School. Below is a picture of some of my Lloyd friends from summer camp.
Some of my favorite things include the color yellow, peanut butter, warm summer nights, the smell of matches, baking, autumn, laughing, Brennan Manning, mornings, road trips, city lights at night, black and white photography, dreams, coffee, country music, friends, driving through the mountains, dresses, memories, sunny rain, and grace.
This past year has been a bittersweet experience for me. There were some really great things that happened, but I also visited some of the darkest times in my life. I would not change anything that took place though! Through both the joy and the affliction, I have learned so much about what it means to be loved by God and what exactly grace really is. The purpose behind this blog is to shed some light on the things that have been kept secret so long and to display what God is showing and teaching me. James 5:16 demands that we confess our sins so that we may be healed. 2 Corinthians 12:9 tells us that in our weakness God's power is made perfect. So why not let it all hang out there? I'll be the first one to tell you that it's not easy, but I'll also be the first one to tell you that it's worth it! I hope you enjoy this and I also hope you take something from it. If you would like to contact me, feel free to do so. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
